In the Saiki household, Kurumi and Kuniharu yell "Merry Christmas" to Kusuo but are met with silence and finding him not there. Kurumi believes he left the home to go hang out with Riki and the others, surprising Kuniharu. He is initially annoyed at him for breaking their tradition of being with family on the day, but both parents tear up happily at the thought of him finally having friends. They decide to celebrate this occasion of his growth. Kusuo, using clairvoyance, asking who is visiting friends. Kusuo explains that the last two Christmases have been disasters and went to the only place that would be empty at this time. He is then shown to be on a swing set and reveals he is at the local park by himself. He is confident that no one will come, other than possibly a couple, and he will finally be alone on Christmas for once.

At that same time a couple come by, wanting to go to the park but see Kusuo alone. They are upset and believe he is in a bad mode. Not wanting to bother him they leave to another place. They talk about people being alone on this day but it is cut short when Takahashi bumps into them while he was running. He ends up falling, apologizes to the couple, and realizes he made his cake delivery fall. The couple leaves, Takahashi opens the box to find he ruined the cake. He ends up telling his boss that the cake fell and he gets yelled at. After the lecturing he is then told he will be reimbursing the cake. Takahashi is in shock, he is only paid 5,000 yen while the cakes are 6,300 yen each, meaning he will have to pay 1,300 yen out of pocket. He is then upset, realizing he has to work the rest of his shift on Christmas Eve for free and having to pay up extra too. Riki recognized his voice, goes up to him and asks him what is up with him. Takahashi explains he is currently working and then gets the bright idea to sell Riki the ruined cake. He explains to him about the original price but with how this cake is ruined he is willing to negotiate the price for him. Riki understands and states he only has 1,302 yen on him to buy the cake. Takahashi begrudgingly accepts it. Riki gets the ruined cake and leaves. Takahashi's boss grabs the 1,300 yen and it leaves a sad Takahashi with 2 yen.

Riki wonders what should he do with the cake, knowing he can not take it home since his mother does not like sweets. He finally deciding to get Shun and they can go to Kusuo's house together. Kusuo shudders, having a bad feeling about something. Using clairvoyance, he first checks his house, to find nothing out of the ordinary. He then checks the area near the park he is in and is surprised to see Shun. He wonders why he is nearby and at that time Shun explains he was walking alone and felt an ominous wind. Kusuo thanks him for the explanation. Shun wonders where the wind is coming from and thinks of going to the park. Knowing this, Kusuo wonders if he should teleport home but figures that his parents are still in a party mood. Not wanting Shun to come towards his direction, Kusuo uses his pyrokinesis and telekinesis to make an ominous wind. Shun is initially in shock of the strong gust of wind but is then in glee of feeling an actual ominous wind. Shun then decides to not go towards the park and to retrace his steps. Shun leaves and Kusuo is relieved.

Shun is walking, does not feel the wind anymore, and decides to go home. Riki sees him and says he was looking for him. Shun asks him why. Riki tells him that he has cake and he went to his house to ask him if he wanted to go to Kusuo's house. He found out that he was not there and he was about to head home himself. Finishing his explanation, Riki then asks Shun if he wants to go to Kusuo's house. Shun thinks about it and agrees to go to Kusuo's house with him. Kusuo shudders once more, making him stand up and pace around. He is a bit nervous, not understanding why he feels like this. Ironically, he questions himself if something is developing or if he made a mistake without realizing it. While in thought, he kicks a rock near a pigeon and it flies away. In denial, he believes it is his imagination and everything is fine.

Shun and Riki run into Kokomi and they greet each other. They tell her about their plans to go visit Kusuo and she seems very eager of this. She wants to go with them but she is stuck with her brother, Makoto. Makoto badmouths them for talking to Kokomi. She apologizes to them and explains that he is her older brother. They are surprised of this but Makoto continues to tell them to leave. Kokomi sighs, knowing she can not go with them like this. Suddenly the pigeon that Kusuo scared off, attacks Makoto. The bird takes away his disguise, making everyone around the area mob him. Shun and Riki are once again surprised, learning her brother is a famous actor. Kokomi, relieved of getting her chance to leave, tells them that she will explain everything later and that they should head to Kusuo's house.

Kusuo shudders once more. He believed this plan was the best choice but feels like it was his worst mistake. He thinks on what to do and believes it might be a good time to go home. He then hears a lot of noise, questions it and sees it is Makoto with a crowd. Kusuo realizes that he is running towards the park, believes he was the one to make him feel uneasy, and decides to teleport home. He walks into his room to find Kokomi, Riki and Shun sitting there, greeting him. They were waiting for him to arrive back home. Kusuo looks annoyed and finds out the story of what happened. He sighs and decides to join them to eat cake, saying "Merry Christmas." They all are happy to start the party.
