Long Summary[]

August 6th, at a shopping area, passersby stop as they are captured by a girl’s beauty. That girl is Kokomi Teruhashi a bishoujo, who was born with excessive beauty. Kokomi narrates about herself, stating she is not overconfident but just simply saying the truth. She has a fanclub in her school, easily gets discounts, gets help when in trouble, and when accidentally making a mistake it is brushed aside. She believes her life is pretty easy, outside of guys out of their league flirting with her. She is annoyed by them, but unlike normal girls that rudely push them away, she is nice and kind. She excuses herself from him, walks away and explains that with this in mind she is basically invincible. More men approach her, and she immediately kindly excuses herself. While walking, she mentions being bored and wonders if there is any guy that can suit her.

She then recognizes a guy from school, who is walking across the street and carrying a bag. She unknowingly incorrectly remembers him as Kunio Saiki, a guy from the same class as her. She mentions she nearly forgot about him, since he is usually quiet, and wonders what he is doing all alone. She believes it is sad to be alone, especially since he seems to not have any friends. She considers it is likely that he is having a dull summer, drinking barley tea, eating watermelons and watching tv. Feeling sorry for him, Kokomi decides to talk to him to give him a memory he can not forget.

Kokomi runs towards Kusuo and calls him. Next to a water fountain display, she tells him that she ran up to him once she recognized him. In her thought process, she is sure just her presence alone will make it the best memory of his summer and that he fell for her. Kusuo, however, merely politely bows to her and leaves. She turns, in shock, into the direction he left. She is surprised at his lack of reaction, usually anyone in his position would be surprised and gawk at her. She then considers that Kusuo may have been too surprised to see her and is upset with himself for what he did. She decides to follow him and give him one last chance. Going in front of him, she tells him that it was mean for him to ignore her, however Kusuo does not acknowledge her and walks past her. She is shocked once again, believes he can not see her, he may believe that she is an illusion and that his life was so miserable beforehand. She decides to give him the biggest happiness of his life and have contact with him to make him know she is not an illusion. She goes towards him again, only for Kusuo to dodge her. Once again she is surprised and believes he is avoiding touching her.

Kusuo hears her think that she is surprised at him considering her as such a significant presence. He sighs, saying he should not have passed by the street they are on. He tries to figure out what to do. He explains he is only out since there was no more barley tea at home and he came to buy some. He finds the whole situation annoying, her persistency and continuing to follow him. Kokomi goes up to Kusuo again in the process and he wonders when she will consider that he is actually ignoring her. Kusuo, however, understands her standpoint since every student, including Shun and Riki, overreact and gawk when seeing her. He explains everything she has said so far about herself is the truth and thus makes her dangerous. Kokomi is a popular girl in their school, he does not want to be associated with any sort of attention to himself, so he does not want to be around her. He decides to leave using teleportation but he can not since there are too many people around them. He is glad that Kokomi believes he is hallucinating. While it is tough for him, she will make her think this is the case and dodges her attempts to touch him.

Kusuo sees an area that is less crowded up ahead of them and decides to teleport then. He, however, sees Riki in the crowd which makes him feel cornered. Kusuo believes if Riki sees and acknowledges Kokomi and himself, then he can not continue ignoring her and will have to appropriately react, which he does not want to do. He decides to continue walking and blend in with the crowd. He then considers that he successfully avoided Riki and feels relieved. Riki, however, suddenly twists his head towards their direction. Riki is confused and wonders if it was his imagination that he saw Kusuo. Kokomi is surprised, wonders where Kusuo is since he suddenly disappeared and calls out for him.

The situation forced Kusuo to teleport on top of a building. He wonders if it was too sudden but knows no one else noticed his vanishing. He is not surprised with Kokomi’s reaction and just makes her start to believe that she saw him as an illusion. Kokomi sees Riki and he in turn overreacts and gawks at her. Kokomi asks him if he might have seen Kusuo but he tells her no. Tuning Riki out, she wonders where Kusuo went. She explains she only looked away for a second, lost him and considers that she probably saw him as an illusion. She wonders why she did so and then remembers her own thought from earlier, that Kusuo must like her so much to hallucinate. Kusuo shivers and questions her thinking. Kokomi briefly denies her thoughts, puts her hand on her heart and wonders what is the feeling she is having. She then considers that she might have caught feelings for Kusuo. Kusuo, in shock of her deduction, says 'offu.'
