Kuniharu shows Kusuo an internet game that he is playing. He suddenly needs to do some work and begs him to do a quest for him to get some items. Kusuo plays for him and is not able to do well in the game.

Long Summary[]

Kusuo hears his father yelling in his room and goes inside to see what is going on with him. Kuniharu is surprised, tells him he should have knocked first and tells him he is playing a video game. Kusuo introduces him as basically a loser who talks to himself while playing video games, Kuniharu frustratingly asks why is he introducing him like that and that everyone knows him.

Kuniharu goes on to say that as an editor, he sometimes works on weekends, so this is one of the few times he gets to relax so it is all alright to play with others. Kusuo asks him if he is really okay since no one else is in the room to play with him. Kuniharu tells him he is wrong since he is actually playing an online game. He explains what an online game is and tells him he should try playing it since Kusuo does not play recently release games. Kusuo asks him what the game is, Kuniharu explains the objective of the game. Kusuo simplifies his explanation to the mechanics of Monster Hunter, Kuniharu gets frustrated again as he tried to explain the game without naming that game.

Kusuo asks him if he really is okay, Kuniharu does not understand. Kusuo explains his character in the game just died, he screams and asks why did he not say anything earlier. Kusuo tells him he did not care. Kuniharu tells him to look at the chat, with all the words of support. Kusuo sarcastically replies to him that he can not hear the thoughts of him being a deadbeat to the team, Kuniharu tells him no one is thinking like that. He goes to reply to his teammates and explains he is playing a female character and everyone believes he is one. Kusuo looks at him in disgust, Kuniharu tells him to stop looking at him like that. Kuniharu, about to tell him more about the game, gets a phone call from work. One of the authors he is in charge of will not be finished with his chapter so he has to go to work. He begs Kusuo to play in his place, Kusuo tells him valid excuses for him to not do it. Kuniharu explains, nervously, his teammates are strong for him to not do anything so he can get the items he needs. Kusuo, once again disgusted, tells him that he is a leech. Kuniharu quickly leaves and tells him he will get him a coffee jelly.

Kusuo starts playing, sees the teammates talking to him, and decides to reply to them. His teammates are confused, he is not responding like his dad. Kusuo explains he is a guy and his teammates realizes he is just pretending to be a girl and some end up logging out of the lobby. Kusuo is confused as to what happened. He sees the players with another female character and how they all give her items, Kusuo then understands the situation. He knows he has to get new teammates as he is still not used to the controls and will not pass by himself. A player goes up to him and asks him if they should play together. Not wanting to do the same mistake as earlier, decides not to talk and uses one of the gestures to say yes. The player gets the message, greets himself with a long username and tells him to call him Dragon Demon. Kusuo decides to play the event but Dragon Demon tells him they need two more players to play the event.

The two search and find a perverted guy trying to find out the information of all the females. Kusuo does not want to play with him but it can not be helped. The two other players decide they should play with one of the highest rank player, Tiger, for their final player. Tiger has a big ego and tells them he will play with them if they kneel to him. Dragon Demon informs them kneeling is a secret gesture that not many possess. Kusuo makes his character kneel and the two other characters are in shock. Kusuo is not surprised. Dragon Demon informs Tiger that since he did kneel, he has to join them now. The preverted player soon disappears, they are informed his account got suspended for misconduct. Tiger and Dragon Demon soon log out after seeing that happen. Kusuo does not understand this game.

Shun is frustrated at the perverted player and says he does not like to play during summer vacation. Metori, also frustrated, says they are all inexperienced. Reita groans, saying he got banned and says he is going to sleep.

In an omake page, Kuniharu comes back to play the game. He sees Kusuo did not get the items he wanted and all of his friends in his list blocked him.

Trivia[]

  • Kuniharu, Shun, Metori and Reita turn out to all play the same game, Alien Buster. Kuniharu naming his character, Kurumi, Shun was Dragon Demon, Metori was Tiger and Reita the perverted player called T-Ta.
