Long Summary[]

After finishing a day of school, Kusuo is leaving only to be stopped by a teacher. The teacher asks him as to where he is going since the club review meeting will start soon. Kusuo is confused since he believes he is not in any club. The teacher reminds him that he is in the occult club, and he is surprised that it is being brought up again. He is then confused once again since he knows that only the club’s president and vice president have to attend those meetings so he questions why the teacher stopped him. At that same moment, the teacher tells him that he is the club president. Kusuo has no recollection of that. The teacher tells him that Reita told him that he is the new president. Kusuo thinks on how to get Reita back for doing this to him.

The club meeting ends and Kusuo exits the room, angry that he was not able to go home. Kineshi was in the same meeting and said bye to him. Kusuo thinks about making Reita a literal ghost and smiles evilly. To get him out of those thoughts, Chiyo calls him and thanks him for coming. Kusuo explains that Chiyo is the vice president of the occult club. She explains that Reita never comes to the meetings, Kusuo states that Reita will never show up to the club or school after he is done with him. Chiyo tells him that he should come to the club again. Kusuo thinks that the club has stayed along for too long and it should disband. Chiyo then tells him that both Arisu and herself are the only ones to show up to the club. He is surprised. She goes further that they have waited every day for them to come by and wonders if they forgot. How she spoke scares him. She speaks further and with pity he decides to visit the club. She appears glad but thinks of how she wished it was Shun instead. Kusuo sighs, wishing he can go home.

Kusuo and Chiyo appear next to a room with the occult club name on it. Chiyo points out that it is their club room. He is surprised that the club has a room. Chiyo continues by saying that he might be surprised by how it looks inside. Kusuo believes he will not, he is more worried about the kind of shady things Arisu and Chiyo might have been doing there for months. They enter the room only to find it is very cozy and girly. Kusuo does end up surprised, not expecting it. Chiyo wonders if Arisu is already here. Behind them Arisu thanks Chiyo for going to the meeting and is surprised when she sees Kusuo. They turn around and Arisu thanks him for coming. He is confused as to who she is until Chiyo asks her if they waited for them. He is in shock that Arisu's appearance and personality has changed since the last time he saw her, with her bangs no longer in her eyes, smiling, being girly like and especially asking for romantic advice. While the girls talk about the guy Arisu likes, Kusuo realizes that Arisu was influenced to be like Chiyo instead of the other way around. He is relieved that they have not gone the wrong path after all. Chiyo then tells her they can probably get some advice through the boys’ side today, she agrees, and Kusuo finishes his thought that they are not on the right path either.

For a while, the girl spoke about Arisu’s boy troubles. She likes a guy in a grade higher than herself and they have communicated through texting. She saw him with another girl, asked him who she was but was left in read and was never given a response. Chiyo tells her that she thinks it might be bad, perhaps the question was too direct. Chiyo then questions Kusuo for his opinion on the matter, but Kusuo does care at all. He thinks this is all pointless, they have talked about this for over an hour, and it does not feel like an occult club. Chiyo says they can do what they always do and bring out something. She says they are going to ask “Sayaka-chan,” then lays out a Kokkuri[1] and pricks her finger to draw out blood. Both her and Arisu ask for Sayaka-chan to come out and talk to them. Kusuo, seeing this occur, is in shock that they finally did something occult like. He questions the object that symbolizes Sayaka-chan, believing it is terrifying.

The girls see that Sayaka-chan is pointing to “yes,” making them glad that the guy will reply to Arisu’s text. Kusuo realizes that the girls have adopted the worst part of each other. Arisu questions if they should ask Sayaka-chan about the girl that was with the guy she likes. Chiyo responds that they should and if they have to they will purge her. With that response, Kusuo feels more terrified. He feels like it is dangerous and decides he should escape. The girls immediately ask him where he is going. They inform him that he can not leave the room when Sayaka-chan is in the room and if he does he will be purged. He questions who is Sayaka-chan but sighs when he realizes he can not leave.

Smiling, Chiyo and Arisu believe Kusuo would have some questions, maybe even about romance. Kusuo believes they are being annoying. They ask him if he is interested in anyone, he wants no part in the conversation. Chiyo then immediately thinks that this is a good chance to get information on how he feels about Kokomi and thus starts to ask him if he is interested in anyone. Kusuo immediately says no. She asks him it could be anyone in class, he starts to feel a sense of déjà vu. She makes her questions more obvious and thinks on how dense he is being. Kusuo thinks on how she needs to realize that the questions are direct and just answers her by shaking his head in a no. The two girls then think that is hiding something.

Chiyo pouts, saying she does not care, and Arisu suggests they should use Sayaka-chan. They immediately go back to the item and ask who is the person that Kusuo likes. Chiyo then realizes something. The first syllable “て(te)” comes out. Chiyo says there is someone, Kusuo realizes she is moving it herself. Chiyo thinks with this action he will say it himself. The next syllable is “る(ru),” Arisu questions if it is a vocalist and Chiyo tells her it is still moving. The next syllable is “は(ha).” Chiyo questions, out loud, what the last syllable will be. Arisu questions her as to how she knows the next one is the last one. The last one goes to “ん(n).” They question who is “Teruhan” and why they think of a monk. Kusuo stands up, sinisterly smiles, and says that they will make Sayaka-chan angry.

Chiyo tells Arisu that they should try again only for the light to go off. Unable to see, they end up dropping the item that symbolizes Sayaka-chan and it lays on the floor broken. They are in despair, thinking that this is bad for them. Chiyo gets frightened, wondering if the lights go off due to them not doing the ritual correctly. The locker starts to shake and the girls start to scream in fear. Chiyo admits that she cheated in the ritual and Arisu reminds her that she is not supposed to move her like that. They hear a voice behind them, telling them as to why they broke her head. Afraid, they ask each other if they spoke, both admitting they have not. They question as to who is the voice and hear the voice again asking them if they will bully them too. Chiyo questions if it is Sayaka-chan but finds that the item is gone. They question it but then find the item flying, fully repaired and telling them that they will die. They scream and run out the room. They plead forgiveness, ask her to leave and it is a curse.

Kusuo smiles, saying that curses do not exist. He explains he used his abilities to do those things that they saw. He believes that he scared them enough that they will not return to the club room and the club will be disbanded. He is relieved that this is out of the way and starts to exit the room. He then hears the pin rolling to a 'no,' is surprised and does not think it is possible.

Continuity[]

  • When Kusuo felt déjà vu, the recurrence possibly happened in Chapter 131. Chiyo pestered him with nearly identical questions when he was transformed as a female.
