Long Summary[]

At the Saiki household, Kuniharu is swiping on his tablet and sipping on his cup of coffee. Kusuo walks by, stops, and asks him why he is acting like a typical customer at a Starbucks. Kuniharu, out of his trance, realizes Kusuo is there and asks him if he wants chai tea latte. Kusuo tells him no thank you and asks what is he holding. Smugged, Kuniharu asks if he barely noticed and gladly tells him that he finally bought the latest iBoard, a tablet. Kusuo tells him that it is not the object he was asking about, he was asking about one of the buttons on his sleeves that is currently missing. Kuniharu questions him and tells him that no one cares about that. Kusuo explains he should care since the button can be used against him if it gets close to a crime. Kuniharu tells him it will not happen, he should care on the tablet and explains all the features it has. Kusuo explains they are not new and besides he only has two self downloaded apps on it, Youtube and Shōnen Jump+. Kuniharu, embarrassed, tells him not to look. Kusuo tells him he should not have looked like a Starbucks customer earlier. Kuniharu tells him to shut up and uses the excuse of the apps being part of his job.

Kurumi, in the kitchen, tells Kuniharu she is going to wash dishes and to bring in the cup he used. Kusuo, with the cups on the iBoard, hands it to Kurumi. Kuniharu tells him to not use it as a tray. Kurumi asks Kuniharu if he has work today. Kuniharu, remembering, goes into shock and says he forgot. Kusuo asks him if his tablet has a scheduling app, Kuniharu says he forgot due to talking to him. Kuniharu then hands Kusuo a tablet and Kusuo questions it. Kuniharu explains it is his old tablet and he is handing it to him. He says he can use it to read books and realize how great these tablets are. Kusuo flaps the tablet and says they are great for the season, Kuniharu tells him not to use it as a fan.

Kuniharu grabs a taxi to get to work on time and Kusuo, with a book in his hand, eyes him from his bedroom window. He says his dad is acting like a child with this device and looks at the tablet in the corner of his bed. Kusuo explains he hardly goes on the internet, does not own a cell phone and just tries to figure out any by himself. He thinks of the internet somewhat like his telepathy, able to see the despicable hidden parts of others, so he rather not see more of it. He goes on to say that he is interested in ebooks and video sites and since he got the device for free, he should just give it a try.

An hour later, Kusuo is amazed. He asks himself why he has been avoiding the internet for so long. He really enjoys shopping sites. He explains he has used the site, Zonozama, before but it was mostly Kuniharu who did everything for him so he had no idea how easy it is. He likes how you can buy paper copies of books as well as digital copies so he can read it on the tablet itself. He goes on to speak about the search feature and how great the reviews are. Whenever he tries to get others’ opinions, he accidentally gets spoiled but with reviews he does not have to. He also likes how fast shipping is, in just one day he can receive what he wanted to get. However what he finds more surprising is that he can buy actual food. He accidentally found coffee jelly while looking for books about it.

While explaining he basically does not have to leave the house, Kurumi comes in asking him if he could buy some groceries for her. He immediately does the task for her and asks if it is everything since he is a little busy. She is surprised that he got everything so fast but thanks him. He decides to buy the coffee jelly, finds out about recommendations of what others bought too and is highly surprised. He explains that it basically is like a mind reader, knowing what else you would buy before you know you need it. Kurumi, at the kitchen, wonders why Kusuo bought aluminum foil and realizes that they have run out. She thinks he basically knew and bought it. Kusuo explains he actually had a premonition about her being upset over it so he bought it while he did the shopping and goes on to talk about the website.

He finds the coffee jelly maker, the same machine he bought from a tv shopping network for 29,800 Yen. He then finds the machine on the site for 3,800 Yen. He pulls the tablet away, regretting looking at the price. He asks why it is cheap and has horrible reviews. He looks at the newer model and finds the reviews are much worse. He eyes a review that recommends a different product and searches for it. He finds it has a good rating and a single review praising it. He decides to buy it but then stops himself, realizing if he found the other machine cheap on this site, there might be another site that sells it for much cheaper. He finds a website that shows how much a shop sells an item so he can find the cheapest price. Back with Kurumi, she wonders how Kusuo found a green onion so cheap. He explains he bought it at a store in Osaka by using his clairvoyance to find the cheapest place and goes to talk about the site he found. He wonders if the site is safe and decides to show Kuniharu later. He finds the machine at a site for 100 Yen. He finds it a bit suspicious but after seeing a lot of things today, he does not find it strange.

He clicks the link of the site and finds it has a lot of ads. He finds it suspicious but decides to look for the check out page. After scrolling for a while, he finds it and thinks they did it on purpose so beginners would not find it easily. He fills everything out and finally buys it. Later in the evening, Kuniharu is home and asks Kusuo if he actually bought the machine for 100 Yen. Kusuo says he did. Kuniharu lectures him that he definitely got scammed. Kusuo tells him about the price site he found and Kuniharu asks him what about the site. Kusuo is surprised that he knows about it, Kuniharu explains everyone knows about it but it is not good right now due to top rankings being scam sites. He asks Kusuo if he checked his email and how the scam works. The item price is cheap but the delivery fee is expensive, and just like that he finds the item is 100 Yen but the delivery is 10,500 Yen. Kusuo is in shock and Kuniharu laughs at him. Kusuo then turns angry and Kuniharu tells him he is sorry. He swipes at the email address of the seller and asks if the delivery price is that much.

Two males, at an office somewhere, laugh at how gullible some people are. Since the people do not read the fine print and do receive what they bought, they can not file any complaints either. Kusuo teleports into their office and agrees with them. They ask who he is. Kusuo says he came in to pick up his item himself so he does not need to pay the delivery fee and everyone will be happy. They wonder what he is talking about, and Kusuo quickly flicks his 100 Yen coin to penetrate into the wall behind them. He asks if he is correct. The two are scared at what they witnessed, and say he is correct.

Back at home, Kusuo has the new coffee jelly maker and retells what happened to Kuniharu. Anxiously, Kuniharu says he got a good deal. With a smile, Kusuo says the internet is pretty great. Kuniharu looks at the single review of the machine and wonders something. He finds when reading the review, with only the first word of every line, it says not to buy this machine. Kusuo asks what he is wondering about and Kuniharu tells him there is nothing.

Continuity[]

  • Kusuo says he does not own a cellphone, however in Chapter 184, he was using an iPhone to get Satou Hiroshi’s attention. It could be that it is not his own or it was an error.

Trivia[]

  • This chapter was originally Chapter 194 but was rearranged to 201 in the volumes
