Several guys keep complimenting Kokomi while she tries to pretend she can not hear them. She then hears a feminine voice call for Kusuo by his first name, surprising her. She turns around to see Kusuo and Mikoto leaving the classroom. With jealousy, she is left wondering what is their relationship.
Kusuo reminds Mikoto that he told her not to talk to him at school, she apologizes. He does not want problems to arise if people think they are more than just classmates. He goes on to tell her if she needs something, to tell him telepathically. She tells him that he does not answer her. He tells her that she tells him stuff that is not worth his time and reminds her again to not to talk to him. She asks him about the all you can eat dessert place, if he would go with her. He says he will go, but just not with her. He figures out Kokomi saw them leaving, she is coming their direction and teleports away. Mikoto wonders where is he going and he tells her to not tell her anything.
Kokomi asks Mikoto why is she in a place like this. Mikoto says offu at her. Kokomi continues by saying she is surprised that she is by herself when she heard her talking to someone. Mikoto excuses herself by saying she was on her phone. She wonders if Kusuo ran away from Kokomi and how cute she is. Kokomi, meanwhile, also thinks about Mikoto. She knows she is more beautiful, smart and have a better personality. Kusuo does not believe her on that last one. Kokomi believes she is not losing to her with anything, until she starts to believe it was her breasts. Kusuo quickly says no. Kokomi goes on that he is the worse, bigger does not mean better. Kusuo says he will sue her for slander and telepathically tells Mikoto to not tell her anything more and will go to the dessert place if he has to. Mikoto leaves quickly after hearing that. Kokomi is upset that she was not able to ask her about Kusuo, but wonders if he is into the gyaru type. Mikoto wishes she was able to talk to her more and that she respects her.
The next day in school, Kokomi changes her hairstyle to look like Mikoto's. Many guys are surprised and Kusuo wonders what is she doing. Kokomi wonders if he will finally say offu. He says no and is misunderstanding something. Mikoto comes in, with her hairstyle also changed to look like Kokomi's. Kokomi sees them talking, and sees she is not gyaru today. She is starting to think it is the breasts and Kusuo repeats that he said no. He tells Mikoto as to what he told her yesterday and she leaves upset. Kokomi deducts he does like gyaru girls and now all she needs to do is act like one.
The next day, Kokomi dyes her hair and is fully a gyaru girl. Kusuo is surprised. A guy asks her what happened. She starts talking, with slang, about how she looks great. Kokomi walks up to Kusuo, hoping he will finally say offu, and tells him good morning. He bows his head, still not saying anything. She is surprised he has not changed one bit. She runs away, upset, wondering if it is her breasts. Kusuo decides to intervene, he does not want her coming to school again with crazier makeup, and asks Mikoto for help.
Kokomi wonders what is wrong with Kusuo, she is trying hard for him. She starts thinking to make it look like her breasts are bigger but runs into Mikoto. Mikoto asks her about her new look and if she fell in love with someone. Kokomi nervously tells her no. Mikoto asks her if she wants him to do some fortune telling for her, Kokomi is surprised.
The next day, Kokomi is back to herself. Everyone is happy that she is back. Mikoto tells Kusuo she did what he asked her to do, he thanks her.
Kokomi flashbacks to yesterday, with Mikoto telling her changing her look will not work. The guy she likes prefers those who stay true to themselves. She understands what happened between Mikoto and Kusuo and as to why he did not say offu to her either. In the background, Mikoto tells her they do not have compatibility and she should forget about him, however she did not listen to her in that regard.
Kokomi says she is back to normal due to this case, and will make Kusuo say offu as herself. Kusuo says he failed to making her give up on him but at least he got her to stop with changing herself. Kokomi is happy that Kusuo's type is someone who stays who they truly are since that is like herself. While nearly finishing her usual thought of getting Kusuo to say offu, she hears an offu from a voice she has not heard from before. She looks towards Kusuo's direction, only being able to see him from behind, and she starts to walk away, believing it was her imagination. Kusuo, however, is nervously holding his hand on top of his mouth.
Continuity[]
- Since Chapter 13, Kokomi has wanted Kusuo to say "offu" to her, which she unknowingly finally accomplishes in this chapter.
- Since Chapter 29, Kusuo has stated he will never say "offu" to Kokomi, even if she were his girlfriend. While they are not dating, he does say it here and is surprised at himself for it.
Trivia[]
- In the majority of the series, Kusuo always speaks using narrative boxes, to illustrate him always using his telepathy. However, the "offu" is in a speech bubble, thus it makes it the first time Kusuo speaks out loud.
