Short Summary[]
It is the new year and Kusuo uses his telepathy blocking ring.
Long Summary[]
It is New Year's Day, Kusuo wakes up and is using his telepathy blocking ring. Remembering the past New Years that ended in disaster, he hopes this year it can be silent.
His father, Kuniharu, knocks on his bedroom door and starts talking to him. Seeing his dad, he uses telekinesis to slam the door on his face Kuniharu opens the door again and complains. Kusuo asks him why is he in the room. Kuniharu is there to give him his New Year money from himself, Kusuke, and his grandparents. Kuniharu seems to not want to give him the money, however Kusuo uses his telekinesis to get it and kicks him out.
He imagines on using the money to buy coffee jelly, only to see Riki and Shun outside his house. They came to take him to celebrate the new year by going to the shrine. He refuses however his mom forces him to go.
They draw fortunes, with Riki and Shun getting good luck while Kusuo gets bad luck. Kokomi and Chiyo run into them, they too also got good luck, making Kusuo highly disappointed.The boys talk with the girls, meanwhile Kusuo is able to get away from them. He throws all of his New Year money and his ring as an offering. He prays for himself to be able to spend the rest of his year peacefully.
