Long Summary[]

Kuniharu enters the room Kusuo is in, telling him to come see what he recently got. Kusuo, who is watching TV and eating coffee jelly, tells him to not be so loud and what is it. Kuniharu tells him to come with him to see it, Kusuo repeats his question, and Kuniharu just says how great it is. Kusuo tells him to leave.

Kuniharu ends up asking him if he knows about VR gaming, ends up explaining it and asks Kusuo what is wrong with him. Kusuo explains since he was talking about a new product that maybe he was trying to cheer up others after the completion of Kochikame. Kuniharu tells him that was not his intention. Kusuo goes on to say that VR is basically mainstream right now and he is no replacement of Kochikame. Kuniharu repeats himself that it was not his intention and just wants to show him what he got. Kusuo asks if he got a Playstation VR. Kuniharu tells him that it is sold out so, instead, he got the Asobi Boy VR. Kusuo has never heard of neither the system nor the brand. Kuniharu insists on the company’s abbreviation, WAB, and is on par with the Wii and Playstation. Kusuo does not believe him. Kuniharu shrugs him off, tells him he will just demonstrate to him how the system is, and puts on the device. Kusuo tells him that it has a bad design. Kuniharu asks him if he can see anything on the TV, as it is supposed to share what he can see. He looks around, sharing the details and then removes his headset to find Kusuo is gone.

Kuniharu finds Kusuo in his room, reading a book, and tells him to watch him play. He felt awkward that no one was there when he removed the headset. Kusuo tells him no since he is not interested in watching. About to argue with him, Kuniharu gets interrupted by his phone ringing. He answers to find one of the authors he is an editor for will not finish his work on time. He tells the author he has to finish since he has to do the front cover image and color pages and can not take a break. While Kuniharu is arguing with the author, Kusuo questions why he has a weird feeling in his chest. Kuniharu decides he has to go and asks Kusuo to turn off the device or he can play with it if he wants. Kusuo tells him he will not and goes to the room with the device.

Half an hour later, Kusuo has the VR set on and is surprised at what he can see. He feels like he teleported to a different place and looks around the area of the game. With glee, he says he basically is in the video game. He walks around, finds a door and decides to go towards it to open it. Opening it, a zombie jump scares him. Kusuo ends up removing the set, drops the controller and yells. He realizes he is playing a horror game and is quite pleased. He will not be able to know what is behind a door and will know how regular people feel. He puts back the set, and admits he was afraid that he accidentally destroyed something with his abilities. He looked around beforehand and noticed there was nothing broken so he will just continue playing.

Meanwhile, with Kuniharu, he is at the apartment building where his author is. He is trying to get in contact with him so he can ring him up to be let into the building. Kuniharu thinks out loud on how the author’s series is brand new and wants to go home to continue playing. He jokingly thinks of breaking the lock and is met with said lock breaking.

Kusuo removes the set again, scared that he accidentally used his abilities. He sees that nothing is broken. He was so sure he used his telekinesis but is quite relieved that it was his imagination. Since the game feels realistic, he feels like he will accidentally use his powers so he will try to be careful. With the set back on, he runs into another zombie and screams.

Back with Kuniharu, he rings the doorbell next to the author’s apartment door. Kuniharu is surprised at what happened and wonders what happened. He shrugs since he managed to get into the build. He continues ringing and knocking on the door, telling the author to open up, and mumbles that his series is not that popular. The door somehow is opened by harsh force, again surprising him.

Kusuo again removes the set and is confused. He was so certain that he has used his telekinesis but shrugs it off. He just thinks that probably the game is tricking him and as long as nothing is broken it is all fine.

The author, Moto Azuma, appears and asks Kuniharu how he got in. Kuniharu mentions just by the front door, and Moto realizes his door is destroyed. Kuniharu says it broke on its own and Moto asks if he used explosives. Kuniharu tells him to forget it and asks him where his work is. Moto flinches and curses. Kuniharu realizes he is definitely not finished, tells him he needs to be done by 7 PM and asks how much he has finished by his facial expressions. Moto looks like he is in despair while Kuniharu mentions pages he needs to do. Once he mentions 4 pages, Moto smirks and is pleased with himself, with that Kuniharu figures out he only needs 3 more pages and tells him that he should be ashamed of himself. Moto tells him to just put him on hiatus and Kuniharu tells him no since the series is new. Moto tells him that readers will not care since his series is not popular, Kuniharu tries to convince him otherwise, and he admits he heard him say that it was not popular. Kuniharu slams his hand to a table nearby, and tells him to hurry up and finish.

Kusuo is having fun playing but notices there is something near his feet. He sees a bunch of snakes, gets frightened and uses his telekinesis. The table Kuniharu slams, splits in half and surprises both himself and Moto. Moto yells that he will kill him and tries to run away. Kuniharu tells him to stop. Kusuo realizes he should not be using his abilities since it is a video game. He panics, wonders if he was bitten and what he should do. He decides to get away from the snakes by using his teleportation. Moto is farther away from Kuniharu but Kuniharu somehow teleports in front of Moto. Both are surprised and Moto succumbs that he will finish up his work.

A bit later, Kusuo finishes the first chapter of the game. He is glad that he made it and finds out that the character he has been playing has his dad’s name. He questions it until he sees a mirror in the game and sees that it looks exactly like Kuniharu. He questions how his face looks exactly like Kuniharu’s and just believes the game has customizable characters and he has been playing as his dad the whole time. He jokes that perhaps stuff that was blowing up was happening where Kuniharu is but states that it is not possible.

Trivia[]

  • At the part where Kuniharu argues with Moto on the phone and Kusuo has a weird feeling in his chest, it is a 4th wall break. It is a reference to Asou-sensei, himself, having to do a front cover image and color pages for the following chapter, Chapter 244.
