It is now the past, a young Kusuo is called by Kurumi to go eat breakfast. Kusuke and him have a contest on who eats their food first. Kusuo wins again by stuffing all of his food in his mouth.

In school, kids are amazed by a kid, Takashi, doing a pencil trick. Kusuo copies it and makes the pencil spin quick enough for it to be a fan. He wants to show the rest but remembers that his mom told him not to show off his powers, upsetting him. A young Touma appears to say the trick by Takashi is foolish. This angers Takashi and bullies him.

After school, everyone is running home to watch a show. Kusuo plans to teleport only to see Takashi and his friends hit and kick Touma, enough to make him pass out. Kusuo sees him, checks to see anyone is nearby and use his restoration to heal him. Touma wakes up, surprised that he is okay, and finds Kusuo's name tag.

The next day, the teacher instructs the students to do some pull ups. Takashi is doing tricks and the kids are amazed again. Kusuo wants to show them one too but once again remembers what his mom told him. Touma goes up to Kusuo and says he dropped his name tag yesterday. He goes on by asking him if he is a clergy man as he healed him from his wounds, Kusuo is bewildered. He compliments him on it and Kusuo is happy. Takashi's friends tell Touma to look at Takashi, but Touma refuses. They go to bully him however Takashi is not able to get out of the poll he is in. He is taken to the nurse's office.

Kusuo is walking away, smirking at what he has done. Touma realizes it was Kusuo's doing and he is actually a psychic. The other kids are confused by the word and he corrects them. He asks Kusuo if he has abilities and Kusuo gives him a confused face, Touma asks him what is that facial expression.
