Kusuo and his parents decide to visit the grandparents for Obon. Kumagoro greets them, being the same old tsundere. Kurumi wonders where Kumi is, only for Kumagoro to look depressed. Kurumi worries, thinking she is dead, only for her to arrive and announce she is divorcing with Kumagoro.

Kurumi asks them if they are fighting. They both deny it, while sitting in a way that they are not looking at each other. Kurumi tells him Kumi wants to divorce him and he still will not care. Kumi and Kumagoro start fighting, with Kumi having the upper hand on him. Kumagoro leaves the room.

Kumi reveals what they are fighting about, Kumagoro left the toilet seat up. Kuniharu is in shock that this small thing can make her want a divorce. Kumi asks them how is it a small thing. She angrily tells them she has been telling him to put it down for 40 years, they all nervously apologize. Kurumi asks her if she has gone 40 years with it, why now. Kumi reveals Kusuke given her the push to do it. Kusuo decides to clean up Kusuke's mess.

Kurumi goes to Kumagoro and asks him to apologize to Kumi, he refuses. Kumagoro then goes on as to why he needs to put it down and uses weird nonsense excuses. Kurumi tells him she is not talking about the seat itself but the lid too, as well as actual good reasons as to why he should listen to Kumi. Kumagoro gets angry, punches Kuniharu, refuses to listen and leaves. Kurumi is annoyed at him for being stubborn. Kusuo knows how Kumagoro really feels, hurt that he can not say what he is thinking. Kuniharu asks him if he could use his telepathy to make Kumi hear Kumagoro's thoughts. Kusuo says no due to Kumagoro would be highly embarrassed.

Kumi comes in saying it is no use to convince him. They see she has changed clothing and ask her if she leaving for a vacation, she tells them she is leaving the house for good. She is going to her sister's house until she can find a new place to live, Kumagoro listening through the door is nervous and panicking. They tell her to wait and Kuniharu asks Kusuo if he can do something. Kusuo tells him no, they can work it out by themselves.

Kumagoro walk out the room he is in. Kurumi tells him Kumi is leaving and he should talk to her. Kumagoro walks towards her, only to walk past her to go into the bathroom. Kurumi thinks out loud that maybe he will finally put the seat down to show he has changed through his actions. He has not changed, as he keeps the seat up and leaves back to his room. Kurumi is mad at him as to why he did that.

Kumi tells her to calm down, he will not change if you ask him to. She decides to leave only for Kusuo to stop her. Kusuo tells her since she is leaving for the last time, she should put the lid down one more time. Kumi is confused but complies. She puts it down and sees something on the lid. She laughs and decides to stay. Kurumi and Kuniharu are confused at her change of heart but just go along with it. Kusuo says she is highly flexible but they perfect for each other, seeing how Kumagoro is stubborn and his best shot at affection is writing "sorry" on the toilet lid.
