Summary

Kusuo has difficulty choosing the best kind of coffee jelly to buy. After spending minutes comparing differently shaped coffee jellies, he buys the biggest, most expensive one and leaves the store, unalert. Suddenly, a ball hits the bag of coffee jelly, but Kusuo uses psychokinesis without hesitating and the coffee jelly is saved. As he examines the coffee jelly, someone apologizes at his back. Kusuo menacingly confronts them but then realizes it is Riki and a kid, who had been playing baseball together, so he loses his anger. Kusuo is dumbfounded after meeting Riki and to his dismay, the kid has lost his ball so he has to look for it with them. After futilely searching for the ball, Kusuo gives up, since his clairvoyance can't find the ball. Riki tells the boy that he'll just buy him a new ball, but the the boy tells him that ball was a keepsake from his father. Riki then promises that he and Kusuo will find it, but Kusuo seems to be gone. He is actually in the restroom, using thoughtography, After repeatedly failing the ball, he finally decides to use apportation, even though he has to use his coffee jelly and is unhappy to give it up. The chapter ends with Kusuo receiving coffee jellies from the boy as a thank-you gift.
