They try to hurt him by making a bookshelf fall on top of him, but he is saved by Riki. Kusuo thanks Riki. Some books from the bookshelf has disappeared.

Long Summary[]

It's the following new day. Some guys are talking, one telling the other that they accidentally walked into the wrong classroom. He then states they are lucky due to the fact they are in the same class as Kokomi. The other guy says they are not very fortunate due to the fact they are in the same class as Riki, Shun, Aren, Metori, Reita and other students such as Kineshi, Chisato and Mikoto. Kusuo agrees with him.

Kusuo's class then begins the school day. Seats were decided by lottery and he ended up sitting with Riki in front of him, Reita and Kokomi on his sides, and Aren, Shun and Metori behind him. Kusuo wonders if the deck was shuffled properly. Shun calls him, Kusuo is surprised since he is not used to people calling up to him. Shun asks him why he did not show up yesterday. The teacher then scolds Shun for talking during class and he apologizes. Kusuo explains that he was going to confess about his powers, however due to the incident with the cockroach, he put off telling them until he can figure out what happened.

Kokomi calls him, Kusuo ends up surprised again. He thought he would be free from trouble after his powers were gone. He explains an example with his X-Ray Vision, how he only was able to see people as a skeleton, however now he can not. He admits that Kokomi looks beautiful, Kokomi is flustered, and he realizes he had been staring at her for far too long. Changing the subject, she asks him if he has decided a place. He is confused. She reminds him that the class has to do a world history research assignment on a G7 country that is not Japan. Everyone has to write down a country and turn it in to the teacher privately. He finally remembers, as well as the fact that those who choose the same country have to work together on the assignment. Kokomi has turned in her choice and he briefly wishes to have his telepathy to not be in the same group as her. He figures out he does not need his powers and is confident that he will choose a country that she did not choose.

Kusuo and Kokomi chose Canada. He figured this would happen and he wonders if it was due to his precognition. Kokomi can not believe it is only the two of them, he then states it could have not been since he did not imagine it to be this bad. They split up to look for books. In the distance, two guys think Kusuo did this on purpose and are angry.

Kusuo tries to look for the books but has trouble. He tries clairvoyance but gets embarrassed, since he can not use that. He finds a book in a tall place. He tries telekinesis and levitation, to no avail. He realizes he can get a stool, decides to use telekinesis to get it and gets angered at himself for thinking that. The guys from earlier shout at him, as to what is he doing, and Kusuo is surprised. The guys laugh at him, thinking he is scared. Kusuo takes this chance to leave but is stopped by them. They start bullying him. Kusuo gets angry and decides to hurt them. He then realizes, once again, he does not have his powers and he is in actual danger. Kokomi arrives and the guys treat him as a friend. She asks them if she can have Kusuo's time now, seeing how they need to do the project, and they let them leave.

Kokomi wonders if they can do all this work by themselves. Kusuo thinks he can use his thoughtography and again realizes he can not use it. She asks him if they can do the rest at a restaurant or at his house since the library is going to close soon. Riki comes in and asks them if they are still doing their project. His group involves him, Reita and Aren writing on America, which they did poorly. He tells them he can help them, Kokomi insists they do not need help.

While they are distracted, the guys push the bookshelf that is behind Kusuo. Riki notices the shelf falling and warns him. The shelf falls and everyone in the library tries to pick it up. Kusuo can not believe he did not figure out their plans but is glad he was able to stop the shelf with telekinesis. He realizes he does not have telekinesis and finds out he was saved by Riki, who got injured. The guys are mad that their plan did not work, only for Aren and Reita to overhear them and stop them.

Kusuo feels useless due to being protected by someone else. What Kusuo does not realize is that he said some things out loud and Riki explains there is never someone who does not need protecting and that it is part of human nature. Kusuo is touched, realizing he has become someone who gets protected, and thanks Riki.

Some kids start picking up the books that fell and are surprised Riki is okay after the bookshelf falling. They wonder if the number of books look right as it is a small amount left over.
