Saiki Kusuo

Shun went to great lengths just to befriend Kusuo. He saw Kusuo as a fellow outcast who would be compatible as a friend, and so tried to convince him to join in with his chuunibyou antics, with little success. Shun continued to follow Kusuo around anyway, much to the latter's annoyance.

The two have a good relationship and Shun enjoys Kusuo's company, trusting him as a reliable and kind friend. Kusuo often uses his powers to intervene when people take advantage of Shun's naïveté, going as far as being a temporary "member" of the Dark Reunion, the fictional organization that Shun made up.

Nendou Riki

Shun and Riki began fighting the moment they met in an argument over who Kusuo will go with (Kusuo however had never agreed to go with either of them). At first, the two did not get along, but soon became close friends as they hung around Kusuo together. Riki refers to Shun as 'little guy' or 'chibi', much to Shun's annoyance. While Kaidou and Riki are close, he is annoyed by Riki's idoicy and doesn't hesitate to call him out on it.

Kuboyasu Aren

Shun was the second person to know about Aren's secret of being a former delinquent. Shun observed Aren fighting with a group of delinquents, quickly concluding that Aren must be one too and deciding to stay away. Shun remained scared of Aren until he and Saiki were saved by him from a group of delinquents who tried to steal their money. A strong friendship between the two soon developed, with Aren and Shun being on a first-name basis with each other, with Kaidou considering them to be "sworn friends". They are often hanging out and doing things together like getting motorcycle license.

Yumehara Chiyo

Chiyo fell in love with Kaidou after he saved her from some punks in the beach and since then tried to get his attention. When they were stranded on an island, she clung to him for support. In one chapter, she got the chance to confess her feelings to him, which left him blushing and shocked. However because of Kusuo resetting time, this was forgotten and put their relationship back to the beginning. Kusuo even admitted that he felt bad because she finally worked up the strength to confess.

Teruhashi Kokomi

Like most other boys at PK Academy, Shun is left without words whenever Kokomi is around. The effect of her beauty is so strong that when she mentioned Shun's bandages to him, he quickly removed them from his hands, suddenly becoming cured of chuunibyou. In a later chapter, it was hinted that Shun is aware of Kokomi's feelings for Kusuo when he mentioned Kusuo's name just to persuade Kokomi to come with them on a cruise.

Kaidou's Mom

Shun's mother is incredibly strict when it comes to school and studying, and is responsible for Shun's good grades. She snaps at him if she thinks he is slacking off and originally did not approve of Riki and Kusuo as his friends as she thought they got bad marks at school. She is unaware of Shun's chuunibyou and he tries hard to hide it from her.

Mineo Nobuaki

Shun met Mineo when he was just a freshman and only just starting to become a chuunibyou. Mineo is partially responsible for the creation of Shun's alter-ego, The Jet-Black Wings. The following year, he felt great shame when Shun gave a speech at Mineo's graduation, reminiscing of their good times together as chuunibyou, fighting for the world.
